Project : Ehiya Residence
Location : Dubai
Type : Private Residence
Year : 2025

Project description :
In the arid context of Dubai, our design transforms the Contemporary villa perimeter into a multi-layered sanctuary, where the transition between indoor luxury and outdoor serenity is blurred. By utilizing dense vertical layering and strategic micro-climate engineering, we have created an environment that is as visually refreshing as it is physically comfortable.
Planting Intent: The "Living Sanctuary"
Our planting strategy for Ehiya Residence is twofold: aesthetic density and environmental performance. To achieve a "lush" feel in a desert climate, we move beyond standard desert landscaping by integrating a Dense forest like planting:

  • The Overstory:
Tall, "self-cleaning" Feature Palms and Frangipani provide a structural canopy that filters the harsh Dubai sun, protecting the delicate undergrowth.
  • The Mid-Story:
Dense groupings of Bougainvillea for vertical color and Hibiscus for broadleaf texture create visual "walls" of greenery that offer privacy.
  • The Understory:
A rich carpet of Agave, Aloe, and Aromatic Jasmine provides texture, while shaded areas have forest-floor aesthetic.

Advanced Soil Preparation
To support this high-density growth in UAE, we implemented a rigorous five-stage soil engineering process:

  1. Soil Matrix Synthesis:
We replaced native sand with a custom-engineered mix of Sweet Soil , Peat Moss , and Organic Compost .
  2. Aeration & Drainage:
To prevent compaction and ensure root health, we incorporated Perlite and Pumice , facilitating oxygen exchange and preventing water-logging.
  3. Thermal Protection:
Every planting bed is finished with a 3–4 inch organic mulch layer, reducing soil temperature by up to 10°C and cutting evaporation by 70%.
  4. Precision Hydration:
A Sub-surface Drip Irrigation system delivers water directly to the root matrix, ensuring zero wastage and preventing "leaf burn" from the midday sun.

The Ehiya Residence is not merely a garden; it is a micro-climate. Through the strategic use of transpiration cooling and dense softscaping, we have delivered a private retreat that remains vibrant and usable throughout the year, setting a new standard for luxury residential landscapes in the region.
